“Making investing simple” – This has been the philosophy core to us at smallcase. Our efforts have been focussed towards building simple, transparent, low-cost investment products using technology to enable investing in ideas you can understand. Today, we are taking one more step in this direction.
In spite of a great deal of educational content already around, there is a dearth of quality lessons which give ‘actionable insights’. Investment strategies like corporate governance, asset allocation, factor investing, momentum etc often appear difficult to comprehend, let alone making them a part of our investments and benefiting from them.
Our smallcase managers, who are experienced SEBI-registered investment advisors and experts in these strategies, have laid down the concepts in a jargon-free and easy to grasp manner in the form of video modules.
Each module consists of an investment idea, essential financial concepts around it and guidance to apply these concepts to create a portfolio. In this series of modules, experts reveal some of their best strategies.
The subscription to these modules is completely free and along with the subscription, you also get access to our weekly newsletter where we will be sending concept videos and blogs, keeping you up to date with the macro-economic and financial world.
Over and above this, you can take a quiz at the end of a module to check your understanding as well as unlock benefits up to Rs.6400!
See the details below:
Presenting the first module – “Microcap & Corporate Governance”
Microcaps are generally considered to be companies with a market cap of less than ₹1000 Cr. These are tiny companies compared to the smallest large-cap company which has a market cap in excess of ₹25000 Cr. Some legendary investors have made a phenomenal amount of wealth by being early investors in these small companies. Hence microcaps make for a great investment if approached with patience and caution, as there are higher risks associated with them.
Abhishek Banerjee, founder of Lotusdew, a SEBI registered investment advisory, is the creator of this module. He is a seasoned Fund Manager and Sr. Research Analyst. He breaks down the concepts of Microcap investing and explains how to use corporate governance to screen good companies from a large pool of companies. He also reveals his strategy and master tips to invest in microcaps.
The second module – Asset Allocation and Regime Modeling (To be released soon)
It is a well-known fact that diversification reduces risk and diversification across asset classes i.e. Asset Allocation is an even better way of diversification. In this approach, while we are cutting down on risk, we are also cutting down on potential returns. But when Asset Allocation is clubbed with Regime Modeling i.e. identifying bullish and bearish phases of the market and dynamically changing allocation accordingly, it can give us the ‘best of both worlds’.
Sonam Srivastava, founder of Wright Research and a SEBI-registered Investment Advisor with more than 8 years of experience in portfolio management. She illustrates how you can identify signals to determine risky vs non-risky regimes and use tactical asset allocation to get stable returns in all market conditions with considerably lower risk.
Once you subscribe, you’ll receive email updates as and when new modules are out. We’ll also update this blog to reflect the same.
Hope you enjoy these modules and put it to good use. Happy learning and investing!
